Ongoing Planning

A relationship, not a transaction.

A financial plan is a snapshot in time - life isn't. With an ongoing retainer, your plan stays current as markets, tax rules, corporate cash flow and family circumstances change.

The decisions that matter most are made every year.

How much should come from salary, dividends, RRSP/RRIF withdrawals, non-registered assets or corporate investments? When should you start CPP and OAS? Should you adjust after a strong - or weak - market? These aren't one-time answers. They change annually, and small adjustments compound into hundreds of thousands of dollars over a retirement.

An ongoing retainer keeps your plan living and breathing, so you're never left guessing between meetings.

  • Annual review and refresh of your full plan
  • Proactive salary, dividend, tax & withdrawal-sequencing adjustments
  • CPP, OAS and pension timing kept optimal
  • Guidance through life events - sale, inheritance, illness, market swings
  • Estate and beneficiary updates as your family changes
  • Your questions answered year-round - no clock running

The Case

Two years early, and more to spend.

The client thought he needed to work two more years before retiring - but with the financial plan, this couple now saw that they have more than enough money to fund their current lifestyle for the remainder of their lives. The client promptly provided his retirement notice to his boss and retired two months later - two years earlier than expected.
